(5) For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him. | (5) Therefore thus saith the Lord, I will arise in that day, I will stand upon the earth and I will judge the earth for the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy. And their cry hath entered into mine ear. Therefore the Lord shall sit in judgement upon all those who say in their hearts, We all sit in safety and puff at him. |
(6) The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. | (6) These are the words of the Lord, yea, pure words like silver tried in a furnace of earth, tried seven times. |

(8) The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted. | (8) The wicked walk on every side and the vilest men are exalted. But in the day of their pride thou shalt visit them. |
