Summary

The Book of Ecclesiastes is one of the books in the Wisdom literature of the Bible and is often attributed to Solomon. This is largely in part because the “Preacher” identifies himself as the son of David and Solomon’s wisdom was so great. However, there are no definitive claims regarding the identity of the Preacher. The book offers a wide view at the nature of mortality and the limitations of people. Despite the transitory nature of things, the Preacher urges his audience to seek for wisdom rather than folly and enjoy good gifts from God.
