When Isaac dwells in Gerar, he fears the men of the place will kill him and take his wife, Rebekah, for themselves, and so he tells them Rebekah is his sister. Later Abimelech rebukes Isaac for misleading him and his people and declares that anyone who touches Isaac or Rekekah will be put to death.
