Philistim is listed in Genesis 10:14 as one of the posterity of Casluhim, who is the posterity of Mizraim, who is the son of Ham, who is the son of Noah. “Philistim,” with its “-im” suffix, indicating plurality, may refer to a group or tribe of people rather than a single individual, perhaps the Philistines (see Philistines). In 1 Chronicles 1:12 he is replaced in the genealogy with “(of whom came the Philistines,)”.
