Genesis 19:4-11, 13

The men of Sodom feature prominently in the story of Lot’s visit from the angels or holy men in Genesis 19: They approach Lot’s home and tell him to send out his visitors, that they may “know” them (a word in the Bible often used as a euphemism for sexual activity). When Lot comes out and protests, they say he is making himself a judge of them, threaten to deal worse with him, and press upon him, nearly breaking the door to his home. The visitors subsequently bring Lot back inside and smite the men of Sodom with blindness, making them unable to find the door. Lot is then told to leave the city with his family, and when he does, the city is destroyed.
