The city in which Ephron son of Zohar, the Hittite, lived, and probably ruled, likely near the cave and field of Machpelah. The name of the city, if it is not Ephron, is not specified. Genesis 23:10, 17-18 tell us that Ephron sold Abraham the cave and field of Machpelah “in the presence of the cildren of Heth, all that went in at the gate of his city.”
