Jiphthah-el, Valley of
Bible References
(which God opens), a valley which served as one of the landmarks for the boundary of both Zebulun (Joshua 19:14) and Asher (Joshua 19:27). Dr. Robinson suggests that Jiphthah-el was identical with Jotapata, and that they survive in the modern Jefat, a village in the mountains of Galilee, halfway between the Bay of Accre and the Lake of Gennesareth.
