The Table of Showbread

The Table of Showbread, which held twelve large loaves of unleavened bread and two dishes of frankincense, was situated on the north side of the Holy Place. Every Sabbath, the priests would eat the showbread and then burn the frankincense on the Altar of Incense, participating in a communal meal before the divine presence.
