The Tabernacle

The Tabernacle of Moses was a portable temple, or place on earth where God could dwell amongst the people of Israel. Its structure and plan were designed to help teach Israel how to enter the presence of the Lord. The Bible reports that Moses received detailed instructions for the building of the Tabernacle while atop Mount Sinai. The entire structure was portable and was carried by the Israelites as they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years.
